Basic training is a one day class designed
for people who are new to the industry. It is tought by Worthington University
trainers and representatives from many manufacturers. A large studded
out wall is set up in the room. The wall is populated and configured
as the day goes on. TechHome Basic Training is designed to help attendees
take advantage of the industry's first runaway hit product (the structured
wiring system) and the growing number of products and services that tie-in
with the structured wiring system distribution panel. The course starts
with a survey of the home networking and automation industry landscape
and covers the benefits and applications of advanced voice-data-video
distribution and integrated control in the home. Then, it focuses in
on the box and voice-data-video distribution products and technologies
specifically and closes with a tour of control subsystem products and
technologies and subsystem integration. Topics inculde structured wiring,
lighting, audiuo/video, whole house audio, HVAC, security, and more.
